Hartford, Conn. - Junior Christian Sterling (Glastonbury, Conn.) won three events to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 150-116 win over the visiting Connecticut College Camels in New England Small College Athletic Conference men's swimming and diving action this afternoon. The Bantam women lost, 163-134, to the Camels.

The Trinity men improve to 1-2 with the victory in their home opener, while the Bantam women drop to 0-4. The Connecticut College men fall to 1-3 and the Camel women improve to 3-1. The men's victory marks the first career victory for first-year Trinity Head swimming and Diving Coach Kristen Noone.

Sterling won the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyles and the 200-yard butterfly, while senior tri-captain Chris Nicholas (Seekonk, Mass.) took first place in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events and sophomore Chris Rorer (Villanova, Pa.) won the 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes for Trinity. Nicholas, Rorer, junior Alex Blanchard (Warwick, R.I.) and sophomore Coley Dale (Bloomfield, Conn.) opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.

Trinity freshman Julia Kaye (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) won three freestyle events, including back-to-back victories in the 1,000-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle. Kaye also won the 500-yard freestyle, while senior tri-captains Cory Bernard (Seymour, Conn.) and Katie Bryant (Concord, Mass.) and freshman Jennifer Bartlett (Marblehead, Mass.) won the 200-yard butterfly, the three-meter dive, and the 200-yard breaststroke, respectively.
