TRINITY MEN'S SQUASH FINISHES
FLAWLESS AGAIN WITH WIN OVER PRINCETON
Hartford, Conn.– Sophomore Bernardo Samper (Bogota, Colombia), ranked No. 3 in the nation, Princeton freshman Yasser El- Halaby (Cairo, Egypt), ranked No.1 in the nation, 3-0 at the No. 1 position to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 8-1 win over the visiting Princeton University Tigers in men's squash action this afternoon at George A. Kellner Squash Center. Trinity, ranked No. 1 in the nation, finishes the regular season at 16-0, extends its winning streak to 77 matches dating back to 1998, and wins at least a share of the Intercollegiate Squash Association (ISA) Dual Match Championship title for the fifth straight season. Princeton, ranked No. 2 in the nation, drops to 8-1 with the loss.
During the match, Samper scored an unheard of 17 straight points against El-Halaby, who had defeated Samper in an exhibition match in December. Seven other the Bantams dominated over their opponents to win their matches in three straight games. Senior co-captain Nicholas Kyme (Pembroke, Bermuda), ranked No.11 in the nation swept passed the nation’s No. 6-ranked player, David Yik (Vancouver, British Columiba),with a 3-1 triumph.
