TRINITY MEN’S SQUASH DISPOSES
OF DARTMOUTH IN CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTERS

Princeton, N.J. – Sophomore Bernardo Samper (Bogota, Colombia), the nation’s top-ranked player, downed the nation’s No. 8 player, Ryan Donegan (New Orleans, La.) 3-0, at the top position to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 9-0 win over the Dartmouth College Big Green in the quarterfinal round of the College Squash Association (CSA) National Men’s Team Championships (Potter Trophy) this afternoon at Princeton University. 

Trinity, ranked No. 1 in the nation, improves to 17-0 for the season and extends its winning streak to 88 consecutive matches dating back to 1998.  The Bantams, seeded No. 1 in the eight-team, tournament field, will play No. 4-seeded Harvard, who downed Western Ontario, 8-1, in its quarterfinal match, in the semi-finals tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.  No. 2-seeded Princeton will host No. 3-seeded Yale in the other semi-final tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.

Trinity, which downed Dartmouth, 9-0, in its regular season meeting in January, did not lose a game in the nine individual matches and won three matches without allowing a single point scored upon them.  Juniors Michael Ferreira (Stamford, England) and Nadeem Osman (Port Elizabeth, South Africa) and senior Carl Baglio (Toronto, Ontario) won their respective matches at No. 2, No. 6, and No. 9 by 9-0, 9-0, 9-0 scores for the Bantams.
