TRINITY MEN’S SQUASH CAPTURES FOURTH STRAIGHT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE
Seniors Play Entire Four Years Without a Loss

Cambridge, Mass.- Freshman Bernardo Samper (Bogota, Colombia), senior co-captain Rohan Juneja (Bombay, India) and senior Gaurav Juneja (Bombay, India) each posted three, 3-0, wins to lead Trinity College Bantams to three straight victories and its fourth consecutive National Intercollegiate Squash Racquets Association (NISRA) Team Championship (Potter Trophy) this weekend at Harvard University.

Trinity, ranked No. 1 in the nation and seeded No. 1 in the tournament, defeated No. 8-seeded Brown, 9-0, in the quarter-finals on Friday, downed No. 4-seeded Harvard, 8-1, in the semi-finals on Saturday, and outscored No. 2-seeded Princeton, 8-1, in the finals on Sunday. The Bantams finish the season with a perfect 19-0 record and extend their winning streak to 71 matches dating back to 1998. Together with the Bantam women, Trinity captured the 2001-02 men's and women's national intercollegiate squash titles for the first time in College history.

Samper, the nation's top-ranked player, posted his three wins playing at the No. 1 position for Trinity, defeating No. 9-ranked James Bullock (Kingston, Jamaica) against Harvard and No. 6-ranked Will Evans (Auckland, New Zealand) in the Princeton match. Rohan Juneja and Gaurav Juneja won their three matches, playing at No. 8 and No. 9, respectively, while Trinity sophomore and the nation's No. 3 player Michael Ferreira (Stamford, England) included a 3-2 triumph over Princeton's David Yik (North Vancouver, British Columbia), the nation's No. 2-ranked player, among his three wins in the tournament.

The Juneja brothers, senior co-captain Lefika Ragontse (Gaborone, Botswana), senior Rohan Bhappu (Singapore), who won three matches at the No. 7 position in the tournament, and senior Noah Wimmer (Bala Cynwyd, Pa.) finish their dual careers having never experienced a loss. Bantam junior Nickolas Kyme (Pembroke, Bermuda) and sophomore Nadeem Osman (Port Elizabeth, South Africa) each won all three of their matches in the tournament as well.
