WILLIAMS DEFEATS TRINITY MEN’S SOCCER
Williamstown, Mass.- Alex
Blake (Kingston, Jamaica) had two goals and two assists to lead the Williams
College Ephs to a 6-1 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New
England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men’s soccer action this
afternoon. Trinity falls to 2-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the NESCAC with its
first league defeat, while the Ephs improve to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the
league.
Trinity was very much in the game until midway through the second
half, cutting a 2-0 Williams lead to one goal on a 20-yard blast by senior
co-captain Morgan Sandell (Cohasset, Mass.) on a cross by junior John
Klaus (Blue Bell, Pa.) in the 20th minute. The Ephs answered on
a score by sophomore forward Schuyler Riggs (Louisville, Ky.) with seven
minutes remaining in the first half, and outscored Trinity, 3-0, in the second
stanza.
