BATTLES MIDDLEBURY TO TIE
Middlebury, Vt. - Senior co-captain forward Morgan Sandell (Cohasset, Mass.) scored the game-tying goal to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 1-1 tie after 110 minutes against the Middlebury College Panthers in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's soccer action this afternoon. Trinity improves to 1-0-1 overall and in the NESCAC, while the Panthers drop to 1-1-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the league.
Middlebury senior forward Kyle Dezotell (Newport, Vt.) scored the game's first goal at 5:25 of the first half, but Bantam freshman middie Alan Shilling (South Brunswick, N.J.) set up Sandell for the game's final score just :38 later. Trinity sophomore goalie Jamie Burns (Minnetonka, Minn.) made eight saves and sophomore netminder Craig Hirsh (Verona, N.J.) made four for the Panthers.
