GILBERT GOALS GIVE TUFTS
MEN’S SOCCER TRIUMPH AT TRINITY

Hartford, Conn. - Freshman forward Todd Gilbert (Chicago, Ill.) netted two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to lead the visiting Tufts University Jumbos to a 3-2 win over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men’s soccer this afternoon. Trinity falls to 4-3-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the NESCAC with its first loss in the last three games, while the Jumbos improve to 6-3 overall and 3-3 in the league with its second consecutive victory.

Bantam junior midfielder John Klaus (Blue Bell, Pa.) and sophomore forward John Ziadie (Kingston, Jamaica) scored second half goals for Trinity. Klaus added an assist along with senior co-captain midfielder Peter Zoppi (Cheshire, Conn.).

Sophomore goalie Scott Conroy (Madison, Conn.) had seven saves, and Bantam junior netminder Michael Doherty (Marshfield, Mass.) stopped eight Jumbo shots.
