PRINDIVILLE GOAL GIVES TUFTS MEN’S
SOCCER VICTORY OVER TRINITY

Medford, Mass. - Senior tri-captain Michael Prindiville (Manchester, Conn.) scored his third game-winning goal of the season to lift the Tufts University Jumbos to a 1-0 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference men’s soccer action this afternoon.

Trinity, which ends its three-game winning streak, drops to 6-4 overall and 3-3 in the NESCAC, while Tufts, ranked No. 5 in New England, improves to 8-2 overall and 5-2 in the league.

Prindiville scored his goal after Michael Blea (Albuquerque, N.M.) put a shot on net that was saved by Trinity sophomore keeper Michael Doherty (Marshfield, Mass). Prindiville was able to knock in the lose ball and provide enough scoring for Tufts.

Trinity’s closest scoring chance by sophomore midfielder Aaron Birnbaum (Newton, Mass.) went toward the lower left corner of the net but was barely saved by Tufts goalie Scott Conroy (Madison, Conn.). Conroy totaled five saves to earn the shutout and Doherty stopped a season-high 12 shots for Trinity.
