TRINITY MEN'S SOCCER BEATS SALVE
REGINA FOR THIRD STRAIGHT WIN

Newport, R.I. - Sophomore midfielder Aaron Birnbaum (Newton, Mass.) scored the go-ahead goal at 33:01 lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 3-1 win over the Salve Regina University Seahawks in men's soccer action this afternoon at Fort Adams State Park. Trinity, which has won three games in a row all on the road, improves to 3-2 , while the Seahawks fall to 2-5

Trinity went ahead, 1-0, on an unassisted goal by junior co-captain forward Morgan Sandell (Cohasset, Mass.) at 25:16, but the Seahawks tied the score exactly six minutes later on a score by Jarrod Anderson (Norwell, Mass.). Birnbaum immediately gave the lead back to the Bantams with an unassisted goal and classmate John Klaus (Blue Bell, Pa.) added an insurance goal late in the second half. Trinity freshman goalie Jamie Burns (Minnetonka, Minn.) made four saves and junior goalie Tom Slavin (Norwell, Mass.) had 11 for the Seahawks.
