WILLIAMS SHUTS OUT TRINITY MEN'S SOCCER
Williamstown, Mass. - Sophomore Alex Blake (Kingston, Jamaica) scored two goals to lead the Williams College Ephs to a 3-0 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference mens soccer action this afternoon.
Trinity is now 2-2-2 and 1-2 in the NESCAC, while Williams, ranked No. 1 in New England and No. 2 in NCAA Division III, improves to 6-0 and 4-0 in the league.
Williams scored the first half's only goal, despite two great saves by Trinity senior goalkeeper Tom Hambrick-Stowe (Lancaster, Pa.) on a penalty kick and a rebound, before junior Josef Powell (St. Catherine, Jamaica) found the net with the third Williams shot of the attack.
Blake scored twice in the second half for a 3-0 final. Hambrick-Stowe made 11 saves, but the Bantam offense was oushot 34-5.
