TUFTS MENS SOCCER SINKS TRINITY
Hartford, Conn. - Sophomore forward Matt McGregor (Little Compton, R.I.) scored the game-winning goal on a head deflection off a free kick in the first half to lead the Tufts University Jumbos to a 1-0 win over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference mens soccer action this afternoon.
It was fourth loss of the season for Trinity, which is now 3-4-3 and 1-4-1 in the NESCAC, while Tufts University improves to 5-3-2 and 3-2-2 in the league.
Trinity senior goalkeeper Tom Hambrick - Stowe (Lancaster, Pa.) made seven saves, but senior Steve McDermid (Shorewood, Minn.) matched him with seven saves and a shutout for the Jumbos.
