SANDELL GOAL GIVES TRINITY FIFTH STRAIGHT WIN
OVER EASTERN CONNECTICUT MEN'S SOCCER
Willimantic, Conn. - Sophomore forward Morgan Sandell (Cohasset, Mass.) scored game's only goal in the 22nd minute to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 1-0 win over the Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors in men's soccer action this afternoon.
Trinity, which snaps a two-gamewinless streak, is now 3-3-3 for the season, while Eastern drops to 2-11 with its first loss in the past three games.
Sandell scored on a direct kick with 22:55 left in the first half, blasting the ball inside the lft post. Trinity senior goalkeeper Tom Hambrick-Stowe (Lancaster, Pa.) made five saves for his fourth career win over the Warriors and his second shutout gaianst them. Eastern goalkeeper Doug Craig (Niantic, Conn.) had six saves in a losing effort.
