TRINITY MEN’S LACROSSE DOESN’T
HAVE ENOUGH AT TUFTS

Medford, Mass.- Sophomore David Taylor (Burke, Va.) scored three goals and assisted on two others as the Tufts University Jumbos won their New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men’s lacrosse opener at home against the Trinity College Bantams this afternoon at Ellis Oval, 8-5.

Both teams played well defensively as the Jumbos jumped out to a 2-0score after the first quarter.  The Bantams of Trinity rebounded with two goals of their own in the second as the teams entered the half knotted at 2-2.
In the third quarter, Tufts took control of the game with four unanswered goals, including the eventual game-winner by Taylor unassisted. Tufts sophomore goalie Luke Chicco (Merrick, NY) made several clutch stops for a total of 20 in the game and 15 in the second half.

Trinity made a game of it in the fourth quarter, fell short after a scoreless third frame.  Senior Ravi Pillay (Falls Church, Va.) had two goals for the Bantams, and junior goalie Geoff Shaw (Charlotte, N.C.) had 11 saves.
