TRINITY MEN'S LACROSSE LOSES AT SALISBURY
Salisbury, Md. - Attackmen Josh Bergey (Chadds Ford, Pa.) and Andy Arnold (Duxbury, Mass.) combined for nine goals and three assists to lead the Salisbury University Sea Gulls to a 16-6 victory over visiting Trinity College Bantams in men's lacrosse action this afternoon. Trinity drops to 2-2 with its second straight loss, while the Sea Gulls, ranked No. 2 in the nation, improve to 7-0.
Bergey and Arnold each scored twice in the first quarter as built a 7-2 lead. They each added a third marker in the second quarter and sophomore Chris Phillips (Media, Pa.) tallied his second as the Sea Gulls pushed their advantage to 10-4 at halftime.
Senior Ravi Pillay (Falls Church, Va.) and freshman Coly Smith (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) led Trinity with one goal and one assist apiece. Salisbury outshot Trinity 37-33. Sophomore goalie Mike Taylor (Eden, Md.), making his first career start for the Sea Gulls, recorded seven saves. Trinity junior backstop Geoff Shaw (Charlotte, N.C.) registered 11 saves.
