TRINITY MEN'S LACROSSE TOPS BABSON
Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantams jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opening quarter en route to an 8-3 victory over the visiting Babson College Beavers in men’s lacrosse action this afternoon at Jessee/Miller Field. With the win, Trinity jumps over the .500 mark, improving to 5-4 on the season with its third straight win. Babson falls to 5-3.
Leading the way for the Bantams was junior attackman James Skiff (Portland, Maine) and senior tri-captain attackman Ravi Pillay (Fall Church, Va.), who logged two goals and an assist apiece. Junior goalie Geoff Shaw (Charlotte, N.C.) was impressive in net with nine saves.
It took Trinity less than two minutes to get on the board on a goal by freshman midfielder Nick Petri (Framingham, Mass.). Scores by Pillay, Skiff, and junior attackman Sandy Leighton (Blue Bell, Pa.) put the Bantams up, 4-0, after the first quarter, and they never looked back. Senior Todd MacDowell (Wayland, Mass.) scored all three Beaver goals, two of them unassited.
