TRINITY MEN'S LAX CONTINUES ROLL AT AMHERST
Amherst, MA - Senior tri-captain attackman Bobby Souers (Montgomery Village,
MD) scored three goals with two assists to lead the visiting Trinity College
Bantams to a 12-7 win over the Amherst College Lord Jeffs in New England
Small College Athletic Conference men's lacrosse action this afternoon.
Trinity College, ranked No. 19 in the nation and No. 5 in New
England ups their perfect record to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the Snively
League, while Amherst falls to 2-4.
The Bantams jumped out to a 6-0 lead and dominated the contest for
all four quarters. Amherst made surges in the second and fourth quarters
but could never get closer than within three goals.
Souers was joined in the scoring column by junior midfielder Mark
Tassie (Hopwell, NJ) with two goals and an assist, senior attackman Alex
Ullman (North Haven, CT) with a pair of scores, and freshman attackman Ravi
Pillay (Bethesda, MD) with a goal and three assists.
Junior Eric Edelson (Bethesda, MD) and freshman midfielder Matt
Margolis (Short Hills, NJ) paced the Jeffs with a pair of scores and Amherst
junior goalie Corey Simonson (Brooklone, MA) made 18 saves. Trinity senior
tri-captain backstop Matt Jerry (Acton, MA) and sophomore Eric Wilson (West
Hartford, CT) combined for 17 saves.
