KISIELIUS SHUTS OUT THIRD STRAIGHT
IN TRINITY MEN’S ICE HOCKEY WIN

West Hartford, Conn. – Sophomore goaltender Doug Kisielius (Park Ridge, Ill.) made 19 saves to record his third consecutive shutout and lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 4-0 win over the St. Michael’s College Purple Knights in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC)/Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East men’s ice hockey action this evening at Kingswood-Oxford Rink.

Trinity, ranked No. 15 in the nation, improves to 10-2-2 overall and remains unbeaten in the NESCAC at 9-0-1 with its fourth straight win.  Trinity also extends its unbeaten streak to six games, while the Purple Knights drop to 5-8-1 overall and 2-7-1 in the ECAC East.

Kisielius, who has not surrendered a goal in his 203 minutes between the pipes, benefited from a stifling defense in front of him that allowed just 19 shots after giving up only 13 shots on Tuesday against Wesleyan.  Trinity sophomore forward Ryan Stevens (Concord, N.H.) had a goal and an assist, while freshman defenseman John Newhall (Winchester, Mass.) assisted on two goals.  Freshman netminder Fred Lewis (Duluth, Minn.) made 37 saves in a valiant effort for St. Michael’s.
