SOPHOMORES SCORE TWICE IN TRINITY MEN’S ICE HOCKEY WIN OVER SOUTHERN MAINE

Hartford, Conn.- Sophomore forwards Jeff Natale (Hamden, Conn.) and Ryan Stevens (Concord, N.H.) each scored two goals to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 5-2 win over the visiting University of Southern Maine Huskies in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC)/Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East men’s ice hockey action this afternoon at Kingswood-Oxford Rink.

Trinity improves to 2-0 overall and in the NESCAC with its second win in a row, while the Huskies drop to 0-2 overall and in the ECAC East with its second loss in two days. 

Trinity led, 1-0, after two periods on a goal by junior defenseman Tim Joncas (Branford, Conn.), but fell behind in the final frame.  The Huskies score twice in less than a minute to take a 2-1 lead with 17 minutes remaining in the game, before Natale and Stevens each found the net two times in the next six minutes.  Bantam senior co-captain forward Greg O’Leary (Reading, Mass.) assisted on two scores, including the game-winner by Stevens.  Trinity sophomore goalie Doug Kisielius (Park Ridge, Ill.) made 13 saves to earn the victory between the pipes.
