LABRIE LEADS TRINITY MEN’S ICE HOCKEY
TO SEASON OPENING WIN OVER SALEM STATE
West Hartford, Conn. - Sophomore forward Steven LaBrie (Springfield, Mass.) recorded two goals and two assists to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 7-2 win over the visiting Salem State College Vikings in the men’s ice hockey season opener for both teams this evening at Kingswood-Oxford Rink. Trinity, ranked No. 16 in the nation, improves to 1-0 overall and in the NESCAC, while the Vikings, ranked No. 20 in the nation, fall to 0-1 overall and in the ECAC East.
Trinity broke open a 2-2 game midway through the second period with five unanswered goals by five different players. Sophomore goalie Doug Kisielius (Park Ridge, Ill.) made 20 saves for the Bantams, and senior co-captain Kaleb Christensen (International Falls, Minn.) stopped 39 shots for the Vikings.
