Amherst, Mass. - Junior forward Don Patrick (Fulton, N.Y.) notched two goals and two assists to lead the State University of New York at Oswego Lakers to an 8-3 win over the Trinity College Bantams in the first round of the Ben McCabe Men's Ice Hockey Tournament at Amherst College this afternoon. Trinity, ranked No. 14 in the nation, falls to 2-1 while the Lakers improve to 4-3-1. Oswego advances to the tournament championship (Sunday, 4 p.m.) and will take on Wentworth Tech, which pounded the host Amherst Lord Jeffs, 10-0, in the other first round contest. Trinity will play Amherst tomorrow at 1 p.m.

The Bantams fall despite goals from junior forward Dan Gyllstrom (Hudson, Mass.), junior Kevin Dmochowsky (Cedarburg, Wisc.) and sophomore forward Joseph Ori (Niles, Ill.). Freshman forward Jocelyn Dubord (LaChenaie, Quebec) scored twice for the Lakers and senior goaltender Joe Lofberg (Suffern, N.Y.) tallied 26 saves in the victory.
