KISIELIUS STOPS NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE
IN TRINITY MEN’S ICE HOCKEY WIN
Henniker, N.H. – Sophomore goaltender Doug Kisielius (Park Ridge, Ill.) made a career-high 53 saves to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 1-0 win over the New England College Pilgrims in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC)/Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East men’s ice hockey action this afternoon.
Trinity, ranked No. 14 in the nation, improves to 8-2-2 overall and remains undefeated in the NESCAC at 7-0-1 while maintaining its four game unbeaten streak. The Pilgrims drop to 9-4 overall and 6-3 in the ECAC East with their first loss in their last five games.
Kisielius was matched by Pilgrim sophomore Michael Shimek (Grove City, Pa.) in net, as neither team could light the lamp for the first 50:19 of the game. Bantam junior forward Dan Gyllstrom (Hudson, Mass.) received a pass from sophomore forward Joseph Ori (Niles, Ill.) and shot the puck past Shimek for the only goal Trinity would need in the game. Bantam sophomore forward Jeff Natale (Hamden, Conn.) also assisted on the play. Shimek finished with 26 saves for New England College, which outshot Trinity, 53-27.
