Medford, Mass.- Senior co-captain forward Matt Greason (North Bridgton, Maine) had three goals and two assists to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 9-3 win over the Tufts University Jumbos in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men’s ice hockey action this afternoon. Trinity finishes the regular season with a 15-7-1 overall record and a 13-5-1 in the NESCAC with its fourth win in a row. Tufts ends its season at 6-17overall and 4-15 in the league. The Bantams qualified for the NESCAC Championship Tournament and will host a first round game on Sat., Feb. 23.

The Bantams scored five times in the first period, twice by Greason, to open up a 5-0 lead. Trinity also scored the only three goals of the second frame, including the second of the game by senior co-captain forward Jeff Griffin (Wethersfield, Conn.). Griffin had assisted Greason on one of his earlier goals, while junior forward Greg O'Leary (Reading, Mass.) totaled a goal and four assists, freshman forward Ryan Stevens (Concord, N.H.) notched a goal and two assists, and classmate Andris Kozlovskis (Riga, Latvia) had a goal and an assist on defense. Freshman forward Matt Kniaz (Elmhurst, Ill.) recorded a goal and an assist for the Jumbos. Trinity senior goalie Geoff Faulkner (Westerville, Ohio) had 14 saves, and three Tufts netminders combined for 46 saves.
