NATALE GOALS GIVE TRINITY WOMEN'S
ICE HOCKEY WIN AT ST. MICHAEL'S
Burlington, Vt. - Freshman forward Jeff Natale (Hamden, Conn.) scored two goals to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 3-1 win over the St. Michael's College Purple Knights in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC)/Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East men’s ice hockey this evening. Trinity improves to 8-5-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the NESCAC, while extending its unbeaten streak to four games. St. Michael's drops to 6-8 overall and 3-7 in the ECAC East and has its three-game winning streak ended.
All of the games goals were scored in the third period, as Bantam senior co-captain Jeff Griffin (Wethersfield, Conn.) opened the scoring from junior forward Andrew Halder (River Edge, N.J.) 2:09 into the period. Natale scored 1:18 later, before junior forward Tom Mariano (Northfield, Vt.) got St. Mike's on the board at the 7:55 mark. Natale scored again on a power play to put the game out of reach.
Trinity sophomore forward Dan Gyllstrom (Hudson, Mass.) assisted on both of Natale's goals, and senior goalie Geoff Faulkner (Westerville, Ohio) notched 23 saves. Senior goaltender Simon Theberge (Saint-Therese, Quebec) made 35 saves for St. Michael's.
