TRINITY MEN’S ICE HOCKEY LOSES

TO OSWEGO IN PEPSI CLASSIC

Plattsburgh, N.Y.- Brady Crooks scored at the 8:19 mark of the third period for the first of three goals in the stanza as No. 10 Oswego skated past Trinity 4-1 in the first game of the Pepsi Cardinal Classic December 28 in Plattsburgh, NY.

Crooks broke a 1-1 tie when he took a short pass across the crease from John Nadalin and one-timed it past Trinity goalie Geoffrey Faulkner (Westerville, Ohio).

Mike Lukajic pushed the puck past the defense to Andy Rozak at center ice and Rozak broke in and shot a short backhand past Faulkner at 10:52 of the third to give the Great Lakers (10-2) a 3-1 lead. Lukajic scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season at 16:23 of the frame in a scramble in front of the net.

Oswego took a 1-0 lead at 14:28 of the first period when Nate Elliott scored on a one-time from the point on a power play. Steven LaBrie (Springfield, Mass.) tied the game for Trinity (4-4) at 18:59 of the second on a bizarre play which saw the puck bounce off the glass behind the goal, hit Oswego goalie Joe Lofberg in the back and LaBrie swing and knock the puck into the net from midair.

Lofberg made 37 saves to earn the victory for Oswego. Faulkner made 22 stops for the Bantams.
