TRINITY MEN'S ICE HOCKEY WINS AT CONNECTICUT COLLEGE

New London, Conn.- Senior goaltender Geoff Faulkner (Westerville, Ohio) made 29 saves to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 5-1 win over the Connecticut College Camels in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC)/Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East men’s ice hockey action this evening. Trinity improves to 14-7-1 overall and 12-5-1 in the NESCAC with its third win in a row, while Connecticut College drops to 9-10-4 overall and 5-9-4 in the league with its third consecutive defeat.

 

The Bantams scored goals in the first and second periods, while Faulkner held the Camels scoreless until 2:27 into the third frame. Trinity junior forward Andrew Halder (River Edge, N.J.), senior defenseman Martins Lans (Carnikava, Latvia), and freshman forward Jeff Natale (Hamden, Conn.) scored the first three goals to give the Bantams a comfortable lead after 20:48 of play. Five different Bantams found the net, including freshman forward Kevin Hathway (Thomaston, Conn.) who scored his first collegiate goal. Junior forward Mike Hasenauer (Weston, Conn.) scored for Connecticut College, and freshman netminder Steve Oven (Vestal, N.Y.) made 39 saves in a losing effort. The Camels took 40 minutes in penalties to 33 for the Bantams.
