TRINITY MEN’S ICE HOCKEY CRUSHES BABSON
West Hartford, Conn.- Senior goaltender Geoff Faulkner (Westerville, Ohio) made 23 saves to record his second shutout in two days, leading the Trinity College Bantams to a 7-0 win over the visiting Babson College Beavers in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC)/Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East men’s ice hockey action. Trinity, which wins its third straight game, improves to 4-2 and 3-1 in the NESCAC, while Babson drops its third game in a row to fall to 2-4-1 and 0-3-1 in the ECAC East.
The Bantams controlled the game from the very start, as junior forward Andrew Halder (River Edge, N.J.) scored before six minutes had elapsed in the game. Classmate Greg O’Leary (Reading, Mass.) tallied two goals and two assists and freshman forward Ryan Stevens (Concord, N.H.) continued his solid play with two goals for the Bantams. The Bantams outscored Babson and Mass.-Boston, 17-0, over the past two days, and scored 24 goals in their last three games.
