FAULKNER NETS SHUTOUT AND LEADS TRINITY
MEN'S ICE HOCKEY TO WIN AT ST. ANSELM

Hooksett, N.H. - Junior goaltender Geoffrey Faulkner (Westerville, Ohio) stopped all 35 shots he faced to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 5-0 win over the Division II and ECAC East St. Anselm College Hawks in the men's ice hockey this evening.

The Bantams break a two-game winless streak, and are now 4-1-1 overall and 3-0 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference. The Hawks, which lose their second game in a row, fall to 1-4 and 0-3 in the East.

After a scoreless first period, Trinity erupted for four goals in the opening 6:55 of the second stanza. Trinity outshot the Hawks, 44-35, and Faulkner outdueled St. Anselm junior goalie Andrew Zoppo (Needham, Mass.), who totaled 39 saves.

Junior forward Jeffrey Griffin (Wetherfield, Conn.) and sophomore forward Greg O'Leary (Reading, Mass.) each notched a goal and a pair of assists. Junior defenseman Brian Fenwick (Birmingham, Mich.) notched a goal and an assist and junior forward Matt Greason (North Bridgton, Maine) had two assists for the Bantams.

Both goalies played well over 65 minutes, as Trinity junior Geoff Faulkner (Westerville, Ohio) stopped 31 shots and Cardinal freshman Barrett Elmer (Orinda, Calif.) made 53 saves.
