FAULKNER SHUTS OUT UMASS-BOSTON
IN TRINITY MEN'S ICE HOCKEY VICTORY

Boston, Mass.- Junior goaltender Geoffrey Faulkner (Westerville, Ohio) made 29 saves and recorded the shutout to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 3-0 win over the University of Massachusetts-Boston Beacons in Eastern College Athletic Conference men’s ice hockey action this evening. Trinity, ranked No. 7 in NCAA Division III, is now 10-2-2 and 7-0-1 in the NESCAC, while the Beacons are 2-11-1. The Bantams have a four-game unbeaten streak.

Trinity handed the Beacons their first shutout of the season, holding them scoreless on 10 power plays. Freshman defenseman Sean Doherty (Kennebunk, Maine) and junior forward Mark Colwell (Canton, Mass.) each scored unassisted goals in a :23 span of the first period for the Bantams. Junior defenseman Martin Lans (Carnikava, Latvia) added the third Trinity goal in the second frame. Junior Jason Gardner (Lynnfield, Mass.) made 45 saves for Mass.-Boston.
