TRINITY MEN’S ICE HOCKEY DEFEATS CONNECTICUT COLLEGE

West Hartford, Conn. - Junior defenseman Brian Fenwick (Birmingham, Mich.) scored a goal and assisted on another to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 4-1 win over the visiting Connecticut College Camels in New England Small College Athletic Conference men’s ice hockey action this afternoon.

Trinity improvew to 2-0 overall and in the NESCAC, while the Camels fall to 1-1 and 1-1 in the league.

Trinity came out flying, scoring the first four goals of the game. In the first period at the 12:12 mark, Fenwick started the scoring. Fenwick later added an assist in the second period for the Bantams on a goal scored by fellow junior forward Matthew Greason (North Bridgeton, Maine). Greason finished the game with an assist and a goal.

The two other goals were tallied by senior defenseman Justin Clarke (South Hadley, Mass.) and freshman forward Steven Labrie (Springfield, Mass.). Connecticut’s lone goal came late in the third period, scored by Pete Helfer (Huntington, N.Y).

Trinity College junior goaltender Geoffrey Faulkner (Westerville, Ohio) made 15 saves in his efforts towards victory. On the losing end, Camel goaltenders Brett Roth (Charlotte, NC) and Tim McRae (Hampton, New Brunswick) turned away 17 and 6 shots, respectively.
