Springfield, Mass.- Sophomore guard John Halas (White Plains, N.Y.) scored a game-high 24 points, making five out of 10 shots from three-point range, with five assists and three steals to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 90-82 overtime win over the Springfield College Pride in men’s basketball action this evening at Blake Arena. Trinity improves to 7-4, while the Pride drops to 6-5.

of overtime, led by senior tri-captain forward Ryan Uszenski (Woodbridge,
N.J.), who scored 11 of his 21 points in the extra session. Halas led five
scorers in double figures with 24 points, while senior tri-captain forward
Corey Days (Baltimore, Md.) and freshman forward Tyler Rhoten (Ridgewood,
N.J.) each had 11 points, and sophomore guard Jesse Farrell (Minneapolis,
Minn.) netted 10 points, eight assists, and five boards.
Springfield sophomore forward Andrew Anderson (Bloomfield, Conn.) had 17
points and four rebounds., while senior center Adetokunbo Adewuyi
(Providence, R.I) scored 17 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds,
and freshman forward Derek Yvon (East Longmedow, Mass.) added 17 points
and hit 3-of-6 three-point attempts. Junior point guard Gary Greaves
(Tuckahoe, N.Y.) had 13 points and three assists in 21 minutes off the
bench.
Trailing 73-63 with 2:53 to play, the Pride scored the final 10 points of
regulation to force overtime. Greaves' lay-up with :51 to play closed the gap to
73-71, and he followed by hitting two free throws with :37 left to tie the score
at 73-73.
In overtime, Yvon drilled a three-pointer with 3:36 left to give the Pride its
biggest lead at 77-74, but Uszenski scored nine of the game’s next 11 points to
key the Bantams' decisive run.
