BETTER LATE THAN NEVER FOR TRINITY
MEN’S BASKETBALL AGAINST HUNTER

 

Hartford, Conn.- Freshman Tyler Rhoten (Ridgewood, N.J.) scored a game high 24 points, on 10-14 shooting, along with a team high seven rebounds in leading the Trinity College Bantams to a 76-62 victory over the Hunter College Hawks in men’s basketball action this evening at Ray Oosting Gymnasium.  With the win, Trinity improves to 14-7 on the season, while Hunter drops to 5-17.

In a game that started an hour late due to sever weather, the Hawks jumped out to an early lead, and posted a 37-34 halftime advantage.  The Bantams, however, opened the second half with an impressive run, and did not look back.  Junior guard Shaun Smyth (Manchester, Conn.) came off the bench to contribute 17 points, while sophomore John Halas (White Plains, N.Y.) also finished with double figures in scoring for the Bantams, with 10 points.  Sophomore point guard Jesse Farrell (Minneapolis, Minn) chipped in a game-high assists.  Leading Hunter was junior guard Lorcan Precious (Westport, Conn.) with a team-high 20 points.
