WALLACH LEADS TRINITY MEN’S BASKETBALL
OVER EASTERN CONNECTICUT

Hartford, Conn. - Senior guard Scott Wallach (Scarsdale, N.J.) scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 81-8 win over the visiting Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors in men’s basketball action this afternoon. Trinity improves to 2-1 with its second consecutive win, while the Warriors fall to 2-1 with their first defeat of the season.

The Bantams scored the first 10 points of the game and built a 36-21 halftime lead thanks to a three-pointer at the buzzer by junior forward Brian Dion (East Haven, Conn.). Trinity extended its lead to 26 points at 54-28 with 13:45 remaining and trailed by no less than 14 points right up to the final minute. Trinity held Eastern to 29 percent field goal shooting and made 53% of their own shots from the field.

Wallach made eight of 14 shots from the field, including four of seven from three-point range, and dished out five assists. Junior captain forward Colin Tabb (Somers, Conn.) had 17 points and a career-high 18 boards, while senior guard Michael Keohane (Belmont, Mass.) notched 15 points and six assists and senior center Julian Bah (Concord, Mass.) added 11 points,nine rebounds, and four blocks for Trinity.

Freshman guard Gordon Shepard (Waterbury, Conn.) came off the bench to lead the Warriors in scoring with 18 points and had four assists. Junior tri-captain guard Rich Vega (Hartford, Conn.) added 14 points and senior tri-captain forward Ashton Avent (Hartford, Conn.) pulled down 13 points to go with his eight points for the Warriors
