CONN COLLEGE USES BIG SECOND HALF TO
BEAT TRINITY MEN'S BASKETBALL

New London, Conn. - Senior forward Kareem Tatum (Worcester, Mass.) scored a game-high 23 points with seven rebounds to lead the Connecticut College Camels to an 83-64 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference men’s basketball action this evening.

Trinity, which snaps a three-game winning streak, falls to 15-4 and 4-2 in the NESCAC. Connecticut College improves to 15-5 and 3-3 in the league with its fourth win in the last five games. Trinity is ranked No. 5 in the NCAA Division III Northeast Region poll.

Trinity led, 36-29, and held the Camels to 30 percent field goal shooting in the first half. Connecticut College made 14 out of 18 shots from the field in the second half and 23 out of 28 free throws to outscore Trinity, 54-28, over the last 20 minutes.

Junior guard Mizan Ayers (Bronx, N.Y.) joined Tatum in double figures for the Camels with 16 points, along with seven rebounds, while senior forward Jason Shea (West Haven, Conn.) added 14 points and eight boards and senior center Tope Adenkanbi (Hackensack, N.J.) had 11 points and five blocks.

Senior guard Mike Keohane (Belmont, Mass.) paced Trinity with 16 points and had five assists, while classmate Michael LaBella (Middletown, Conn.) scored 14 points and junior forward Colin Tabb (Somers, Conn.) added 13 points. LaBella made four out of six three-point attempts for the Bantams.
