TRINITY CROSS COUNTRY SQUADS FINISH STRONG
AT UMASS-DARTMOUTH INVITATIONAL
North Dartmouth, Mass. - Junior Leeann Rheaume (Pittsfield, Mass.) finished fifth overall with a time of 18:02 and led the Trinity College Bantams to a second-place finish as a team in the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth Women's Cross Country Invitational Meet this afternoon. The Trinity men's squad, ranked sixth in New England and 29th in the nation, finished third as a team. The Bantam women entered the race sixth in New England as well.
The Trinity men finished behind nationally-ranked opponents MIT and Tufts with 73 points to MIT's 60 and Tufts' score of 62. The women totaled 86 points, 25 behind first-place Brandeis and six ahead of third-place Connecticut College, both of which were ranked ahead of Trinity in New England.
Trinity junior co-captain Ryan Bak (Suffield, Conn.) finished third overall in the men's race with a time of 25:00, followed by classmate James Emord (Bridgewater, Mass.) in fifth at 25:13. For the women, freshman Christina Kane (Springfield, Mass.) was also a top 10 finisher, placing ninth with a time of 18:26.
