WORCESTER STATE EDGES TRINITY
FIELD HOCKEY IN OVERTIME
Hartford, Conn. – Junior forward Christen Watt (Hubbardston, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lead the Worcester State Lancers to a 2-1 win over the Trinity College Bantams in field hockey action this evening at Robin L. Sheppard Field. The Bantams drop to 3-9 overall.with their second consecutive loss, while Worcester State improves to 10-5.
The Bantams opened the scoring at 15:43 of the first half on a goal by freshman forward Caitlin French (Rye, N.Y.). The Lancers answered in the second frame on a goal by sophomore forward Jennifer Ledo (Somerset, MA) at 26:57 of the second period. Junior goalie Gwen Gillespie (Bratenahl, Ohio) made seven saves for the Bantams.
