WILLIAMS FIELD HOCKEY EDGES TRINITY
Williamstown, Mass.- Senior co-captain forward Stephanie Noering (Cohasset, Mass.) scored the game’s only goal with 18:54 remaining in the second half to lead the Williams College Ephs to a 1-0 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) field hockey action this afternoon. Trinity falls to 0-6 overall and 0-4 in the NESCAC, while the Ephs improve to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the league.
Bantam junior goalie Gwen Gillespie (Gates Mills, Ohio) turned away 18 shots in a tremendous effort, while Eph sophomore goalie Wendy Stone (Bufalo, N.Y.) made four stops. Moonjo Han (Clifton, N.J.) assisted Noering on the game-winning shot.
