COLBY TOPS TRINITY FIELD HOCKEY IN OVERTIME

Hartford, Conn. - Sophomore Wendy Bonner (Lexington, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal 6:17 into the overtime period to lead the visiting Colby College White Mules in a 1-0 victory over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) field hockey action this afternoon. Trinity drops to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the NESCAC, while the Mules improve to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the league.

The game was dominated by a pair of defenses that held the offenses to 11 shots between them in the game. Bantam junior goalie Gwen Gillespie (Gates Mills, Ohio) made six saves in goal, and Colby senior netminder Carrie Morin (Augusta, Maine) also made six stops.
