BOWDOIN FIELD HOCKEY STOPS TRINITY WIN STREAK
Brunswick, Maine – Sophomore Marissa O’Neil (Manchester, N.H.) scored the
game-winning goal with 35 seconds left in regulation to lead the Trinity College
Bantams to a 2-1 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New Englans
Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) field hockey action this afternoon.
Trinity,which had a three-game einning streak snapped, droips to 3-8 overall and
2-5 in the NESCAC, while the Polar Bears improve to 9-2.
Bantam senior forward Lindsay Peet (Stowe, Vt.) scored the Trinity goal
in the 17th minute of the second half to tie the score at 1-1. Gillian
McDonald (Hudson, Quebec) stopped 10 shots for the Polar Bears while Bantam
junior goalie Gwen Gillespie (Gates Mills, Ohio) stopped five shots.
