TRINITY FIELD HOCKEY LOSES AT WESLEYAN
Hartford, Conn. - Junior goalkeeper Lindsay Wasserman (Branford, Conn.) made four saves to lead the Wesleyan University Cardinals to a 2-0 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference field hockey action this afternoon.
Trinity falls to 6-7 overall and 3-5 in the NESCAC, while the Cardinals improve to 7-6 overall and 4-4 in the league with their sixth consecutive victory. The Bantams need at least a tie on Saturday against Middlebury to have a chance to qualify for the NESCAC Championship Tournament.
Junior Laura Pfeiffenberger (Hollis, Maine) put the Cardinals on the board just five minutes into play thanks to a pass from sophomore Martina McPherson (Brookline, Mass.), who also scored the second and final goal for Wesleyan with 2:52 remaining in the first half. Bantam goalkeeper Jessica Martin (Fort Myers, Fla.) collected four saves in the losing effort.
