GRATRY GIVES TRINITY ANOTHER GAME-WINNER
IN FIELD HOCKEY WIN AT TUFTS
Medford, Mass. -- Freshman forward Beatrice Gratry (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) scored the game’s only goal to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 1-0 win over the Tufts University Jumbos in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) field hockey action this afternoon. Trinity evens its overall season record at 6-6 and improves its NESCAC mark to 3-4. The Jumbos fall to 3-8 overall and 1-6 in league play.
Senior co-captain midfielder Mary Jacobs (Malvern, Pa.) assisted Gratry on the goal after controlling the ball on a Trinity free hit with 7:31 remaining in the game. The freshman has scored or assisted on 11 of Trinity’s last 12 goals and scored the game-winning in Trinity’s last four victories.
Trinity senior goaltender Jessica Martin (Ft. Myers, Fla.) turned away 11 shots in the shutout victory. Tufts goalie, freshman Fara White (Englewood Cliffs, N.J.) made four saves in the second half, all in the second half.
