CAMELS OUTLAST TRINITY FIELD HOCKEY
New London, Conn.- Connecticut College narrowly walks away with an overtime victory as a result of junior Christy Basset (Nantucket, Mass.) scoring at the 7:37 mark during overtime play. Sophomore Emily Huffman (Oklahoma City, Okla.) set Basset up for the shot on a nicely threaded pass. As a result, Trinity falls 1-0 at the hands of the Camels this afternoon in field hockey.
Goaltenders from both teams played remarkably well, combining for 13 saves. Connecticut College’s Anna Trafton (Topsham, Maine) tallied her first collegiate shutout today while turning away six shots, four of which came in overtime. Trinity’s Jessica Martin (Fort Myers, Fla.) made seven saves in her losing effort.
Trinity falls to 1-1 on the year and 0-1 in the NESCAC, while the Camels improve to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in league play.
