TUFTS SHUTS OUT TRINITY FIELD HOCKEY

Hartford, Conn.- Freshman Brooke Christian (Acton, Mass.) scored the first goal at 15:55 of the first half to lead the visiting Tufts University Jumbos to a 2-0 win over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Confernece field hockey action this afternoon.

Trinity falls to 1-11 on the year and 0-6 in the NESCAC. Tufts University improves to 7-5 overall and 3-4 in the league.

Tufts senior goalie Dena Sloan (Millburn, N.J.) played extremely well in the win today. She finished the game with 11 saves. Trinity net minder Jessica Martin (Fort Myers, Fla.) also stopped 11 shots in her effort between the pipes.

Senior Colette Gaudet (Redding, Conn.) added a second goal for Tufts at the 22 minute mark of the second half.
