AMHERST BLANKS TRINITY FIELD HOCKEY
Amherst, Mass.- Junior co-captain Mairin Brady (Behtesda, Md.) notched a goal and an assist to lead the Amherst College Lady Jeffs to a 3-0 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference field hockey action this afternoon.
Trinity, which drops its seventh game in a row, falls to 1-7 and 0-4 in the NESCAC, while Amherst, ranked No. 5 in NCAA Division III, improves to 8-1 and 4-1 in the league.
Sophomore Abby Ouimet (Hatfield, Mass.) and freshman Christine Ryan (Summit, N.J.) each scored a goal for the Jeffs. Freshman keeper Gwen Gillepsie (Gates Mille, Ohio) made 12 saves for Trinity. The Bantams were outshot, 21-2.
