TRINITY BASEBALL OPENS LEAGUE PLAY
WITH CONVINCING WIN OVER BOWDOIN

New Britain, Conn.- Senior co-captain Kurt Piantek (Wallingford, Conn.) hit two home runs and reached base safely in five out of six plate appearances to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 25-6 win over the Bowdoin College Polar Bears in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) East Division baseball opener for both teams this afternoon at Central Connecticut State University. Trinity improves to 7-3 on the season and 1-0 in NESCAC East play after the win. Bowdoin falls to 5-7 overall and 0-1 in the NESCAC East.

Jayme Dorr (Osterville, Mass.) and Angel Resto (Framingham, Mass.) also homered for the Bantams, while junior right-hander Kevin Tidmarsh (Meriden, Conn.) shut down the Bowdoin offense and extended his record to 3-0. He pitched six innings allowing six hits and three runs with seven strikeouts.
