TIDMARSH TOSSES TRINITY TO SPLIT AGAINST
SOUTHERN MAINE IN BASEBALL DOUBLEHEADER

Fort Myers, Fla. - Closing out their week in Florida, the Trinity College baseball team faced the University of Southern Maine, which was ranked No. 7 in the nation. After dropping the first game 13-1, Trinity recovered to easily win the second by a score of 18-1. The Bantams finish their spring trip with a 7-3 mark.

In the first game Trinity was led by senior shortstop and captain Andrew Freimuth (Bristol, Conn.), who was 2-for-4. Junior Jonah Bayliss (Williamstown, Mass.) pitched six innings and took the loss, evening his record to 1-1 on the season.

The Trinity bats exploded in the second game, racking up 21 hits. Senior captain Greg Spanos (Auburn, Mass.) was 3-for-4 with 4 RBI, and junior Jayme Dorr (Osterville, Mass.) scored 2 runs while going 2-for-3 at the plate with 4 RBI. Also having big games were seniors Alan Andreini (Greenwich, Conn.) who was 3-for-3 with 3 runs, senior Mark Mahoney (Newton, Mass.) who was 2-for-3 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored, and junior Kirk Piantek (Wallingford, Conn.), who finished the day 2-for-4 with a pair of runs. Sophomore pitcher Kevin Tidmarsh (Meriden, Conn.) pitched the complete game and improved his record to 2-0.
