DOLLIVER POWERS TRINITY BASEBALL
TO VICTORY AT WESTERN CONNECTICUT

Danbury, Conn.- Junior catcher Robert Dolliver (Norwich, Conn.) went 3-for-5 with a homer to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 12-6 win over the Western Connecticut State University Colonials in baseball action this evening at Westside Field. Trinity, ranked No. 5 in New England, improves to 15-4 overall, while the Colonials drop to 7-11.

Two walks , a hit batsman, and a Colonial error, and a double by Trinity senior 1B Nick Callini (Westfield, Mass.) gave the Bantams an insurmountable 11-6 lead in the seventh inning. Dolliver had belted a solo homer in the third frame to key a three-run Bantam third inning, and Trinity tacked on a run in each of the next three innings to take a 6-0 lead in through four-and-one-half innings. The Colonials scored five runs in the home half of the fifth, but Trinity senior right-hander Mark Mahoney (Newton, Mass.) settled down to hold Western scoreless for the next three innings, improving to 2-0 for the season.
