ABRAHAMSON LEADS SPRINGFIELD
TO WIN OVER TRINITY BASEBALL
Springfield, Mass. - Sophomore Dan Abrahamson (South Deerfield, Mass.) went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI to lead the Springfield College Pride to an 11-4 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in baseball action this afternoon. Trinity, ranked No. 5 in New England, falls to 22-6 with its first loss in the last five games, while Springfield improves to 17-10 with its third straight win.
Springfield came back from a 3-1 deficit with two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and eight runs over the next three innings. Freshman starter Todd Royce (Chester, N.H.) allowed three runs and struck out four over five innings and senior right-hander Kevin Cahill (New York Mills, N.Y.) got the win in relief for the Pride. Trinity junior shortstop Andrew Freimuth (Bristol, Conn.) went 4-for-4 with two RBI, while classmate Greg Spanos (Auburn, Mass.) was the victim of four Bantam errors and suffered his first loss on the mound.LINE SCORE
