TRINITY HURLERS EARN FIRST CAREER WINS
IN BASEBALL SWEEP OF PLYMOUTH STATE
Freimuth Hits Fourth Homer of Spring Trip
Fort Myers, Fla.- Trinity junior Andrew Freimuth (Bristol, Conn.) had four hits with two doubles and his fourth home run in nine games to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 10-3 win over the Plymouth State College Panthers in the second game and a sweep of the doubleheader in the Gene Cusic Baseball Classic.
Freshman right-hander Kevin Tidmarsh (Meriden, Conn.) pitched 2.7 innings of scoreless relief in the second game as Trinity edged the Panthers, 5-4. Trinity, which has won five games in a row, improves to 8-1, while the Panthers fall to 1-7.
Tidmarsh and sophomore pitcher Craig Tredenick (Cornwall, Prince Edward Island) each picked up their first collegiate victories on the mound. Tidmarsh relieved senior co-captain Jack Richardson (Arlington, Va.) in the fifth inning of the first game to close the door on a three-run inning for Plymouth State and preserve a one-run win over the final 10 outs. Tredenick tossed an eight-hit, complete game in the second game.
