TIDMARSH SALVAGES SWEEP
FOR TRINITY BASEBALL AGAINST HAMILTON

Hartford, Conn.- Freshman right-hander Kevin Tidmarsh (Meriden, Conn.) pitched six innings of shutout relief to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 13-9 comeback win in the second game and a split of the doubleheader against the visiting Hamilton College Continentals in a baseball doubleheader this afternoon. Trinity, ranked No. 5 in the New England Division III Coaches Poll, moves to 25-8 overall to tie the College record for wins in a season. Hamilton is now 7-19.

The Continentals opened the second game with a nine-run first inning, highlighted by a two-run homer by senior Mike Feuerstein (Scarsdale, N.Y.). Trinity answered with seven runs in the bottom of the inning, including three on RBI doubles by juniors Andrew Freimuth (Bristol, Conn.), Mark Mahoney (Newton, Mass.), and Greg Spanos (Auburn, Mass.).

Trinity tied the score at 9-9 in the bottom of the third on a two-run homer by sophomore Kurt Piantek (Wallingford, Conn.), and took the lead with three runs in the fourth. Spanos drove in junior Tom Osuch (Fairhaven, Mass.) for the go-ahead run. Freimuth knocked home Spanos on an RBI single in the sixth to give the Bantams an insurance run and a 13-9 triumph.

Tidmarsh ended the Hamilton rally in the first inning allowed six hits and struck out six over the next six to even his season record to 1-1. Junior Brent Lowinger (Monsey, N.Y.) took the loss in relief for the Continentals.

In the first game, Hamilton junior right-hander Jamie Harrison (Hingham, Mass.) tossed a six-hitter and held Trinity scoreless until the seventh inning. Trinity senior co-captain right-hander Jarrett Bayliss (Williamstown, Mass.), who also allowed just six hits and struck out nine, took the loss for the Bantams.

Hamilton scored a run in the top of the first inning when sophomore Brett Zalaski (Simsbury, Conn.) reached on an error and scored on a single by classmate Semmie Taylor (Delray Beach, Fla.). The Continentals added four runs in the fourth frame, all of which came with two outs, on a two-run single by senior captain Steve Guillette (Northfield, Mass.) and RBI-singles by Taylor and junior Adam Lewkowicz (Cottekill, N.Y.).

The Bantams finally scored on a double by Freimuth and an RBI single by junior Alan Andreini (Greenwich, Conn.). Trinity loaded the bases with none out in the seventh, but Mahoney flied out to the Hamilton leftfielder who doubled off Andreini at second base.
