WHITMARSH LEADS AMHERST BASEBALL 
TO WIN OVER TRINITY

Amherst, Mass. - Senior Ryan Whitmarsh (Dalton, Mass.) hit the game-winning RBI double in the seventh inning to lead the Amherst College Lord Jeffs to a 5-4 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in baseball action this afternoon. Trinity, ranked No. 5 in New England, falls to 22-7 with its second straight loss, while Amherst improves to 14-8 with its fifth straight win.

The Bantams scored two runs in both the fourth and sixth innings, including two runs by sophomore Robert Dolliver (Norwich, Conn.). Juniors Mark Mahoney (Newton, Mass.) and Nick Callini (Westfield, Mass.) each drove in runs for the Bantams. Trinity senor right-hander Jarrett Bayliss (Williamstown, Mass.) was the hard-luck loser, as three of the five Lord Jeff runs were unearned, pitching seven innings and allowing eight hits.
